Early Saturday, the Rated R Superstar Edge celebrated his 25th anniversary in the WWE by winning his final WWE contract match against Sheamus. The show took place in Edge's hometown, Toronto.
The majority of the show was dedicated as a tribute to Edge who entertained millions of Pro Wrestling fans around the world.
Edge selected Sheamus to be his final WWE opponent as Sheamus was the one who trained before his return in 2020 after seven years of retirement due to an injury.
After the 20-minute match, the former World Champion said: "What I can say is that this is my last one in front of y’all. I don’t think I can make it another full run to get here again for a match.”
“I’m just being honest with you, but don’t let that be a downer because, man, what an experience you all gave me. I will never forget it. I will never forget it. When I’m 84 years old, and I don’t remember much, I’m damn sure going to remember this. Thank you.”
It was rumored that Edge may refuse to extend his contract to join All Elite Wrestling for one more reunion with his best friend Christian Cage.
