EDGAR: 5 Countries Produce 55% of World’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Five countries accounted for more than half of global carbon dioxide emissions in 2022, according to the European Commission (EDGAR).

China was the largest emitter of greenhouse gases, contributing about 29% of global emissions, and the United States came second with a rate of more than 11%, followed by India, then Russia and Brazil.
