English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran announced Tuesday that he had collaborated with American pop star Taylor Swift in a new song.

During a red carpet interview with LADbible ahead of the Brit Awards, he added that the song will be released on Friday.

Sheeran revealed further information about the collaboration, however, fans have been speculating it may be a remix of his single “The Joker and the Queen",  which originally appeared on his fourth studio album, "=".

There have been a series of hints that supported the fans' speculations such as the Taylor Swift patch on the back of Sheeran’s jacket in his “Overpass Graffiti” video and the equal sign Swift carved into the cake in her “I Bet You Think About Me” video.

The latest hint was spotted last Saturday by eagle-eyed fans that noticed the song credits on YouTube for Sheeran’s “The Joker and the Queen” official lyric video showed the words “feat. Taylor Swift”.

The remix would not be the first time the longtime friends have worked together. They had previously collaborated on “Everything Has Changed” from Red, “End Game” from Reputation, and “Run” a vault track on Red (Taylor’s Version).
