In a bid to activate the basics of sustainable tourism to preserve the environment in archaeological sites, the government has provided emission-free transport options, including environmentally-friendly electric cars, which visitors and tourists can hire at affordable cost, to travel through a number of archaeological areas in Upper Egypt.

"A number of green touring options are available thanks to the new project," the people of the Valley of the Kings and Deir el-Bahari in Luxor said.

Meanwhile, Mostafa Waziri, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, explained that this step also comes within the framework of the sustainable and modern national projects of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

He added: "These fruitful projects are implemented to develop visitor services at 30 archaeological sites nationwide and to improve and enrich the experience of visitors."
