Uncertainty continues to surround the future of Argentine star Paulo Dybala at AS Roma, amid reports that the forward has begun negotiations over a potential move to Boca Juniors.

Dybala’s current contract with Roma expires in June 2026, at the end of the ongoing season, and previous reports have suggested the 32-year-old is increasingly likely to depart the Italian capital.

According to Italian outlet Roma Press, which closely follows developments at the club, Dybala has initiated discussions regarding a possible return to Argentina.

Boca Juniors are said to be keen on bringing the playmaker back home, where he could reunite with close friend Leandro Paredes, his former Roma teammate.

The speculation comes amid reports that Roma are willing to renew Dybala’s contract, but at a significantly reduced salary, potentially lowering his annual earnings from €16 million to €8 million.

The proposed pay cut has reportedly complicated negotiations between the player and the club.

Currently in his fourth season with the Giallorossi, Dybala has been sidelined with a knee injury that has kept him out of recent matches.

His availability for Roma’s upcoming clash against Juventus on Sunday, March 1, remains uncertain.

Dybala began his European journey with Palermo FC after moving from Argentine side Instituto Atlético Central Córdoba at a young age. He later enjoyed a successful spell at Juventus before joining Roma.

This season, the Argentine winger has made 22 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
