Dubai is set to host the FIFA The Best Awards ceremony next year, following an official announcement by FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
The decision comes after the current edition of the prestigious event was held in Doha, Qatar.
Infantino revealed the choice of Dubai during the World Sports Summit held in the emirate on Monday, highlighting the city’s growing role as a global hub for major sporting events.
He emphasized that Dubai’s selection reflects its ability to stage world-class ceremonies that celebrate excellence in football.
The The Best Awards, regarded as a parallel honor to the Ballon d’Or, recognize the best male and female players, coaches, and teams in world football.
Winners are determined through a combined voting process involving fans, media representatives, national team coaches, and team captains.
Speaking at the summit, Infantino said that Dubai will host the ceremony “to honor the world’s best players, coaches, and teams in an atmosphere that reflects the spirit of global unity embodied by football.”
The announcement comes amid Dubai’s continued prominence on the international football calendar.
The city recently hosted the annual Globe Soccer Awards during the Dubai Sports Conference, where Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembélé was also named World’s Best Player.
Notably, Dembélé had claimed the The Best Men’s Player award at the current edition, following his standout performances with the French champions, further underscoring Dubai’s close association with elite global football celebrations.
