Amid increasing tensions, dozens of Israeli settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Wednesday morning, accompanied by Israeli forces, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
The settlers reportedly gained access to the compound through the al-Maghariba gate and proceeded to conduct provocative tours within the area. They also performed Talmudic rituals in the eastern section of the mosque.
This event occurred simultaneously with heightened actions taken by Israeli forces to restrict Palestinians' entry to the mosque. These measures involve extensive identity checks and temporary detentions.
