Dozens of people were killed as a result of renewed waves of floods in Badakhshan and Baghlan provinces in northern Afghanistan, the official Afghan Bakhtar News Agency reported on Friday evening.
The Afghan news channel Tolo News, citing the local Disaster Impact Management Authority, reported that the death toll reached 50 people.
It added that many people are missing.
A video clip published by the "Tolo News" channel showed a village submerged in flood waters, with many pieces of rubble floating in the heavy water.
Afghanistan has been exposed to frequent floods for some time.
Just a few days ago, deaths and destruction occurred in parts of the country after heavy rains. At least 70 people died last month due to floods.
