Doubts have been raised over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's infection with the new Coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19, according to Russia Today TV channel.
This suspicion came after Netanyahu's advisor for religious affairs' husband tested positive for the disease.
The RussianTV channel added that Netanyahu's advisor attended with him last Thursday a number of meetings in the presence of several ministers, and Knesset members.
The advisor has undergone a Coronavirus test and the result will be revealed tonight.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Israel soared beyond 4,000, the Health Ministry announced Sunday evening, recording an increase of 628 in the last 24 hours.
Israelis were asked starting last Wednesday to remain in their homes unless they are taking part in a small number of approved activities, including purchasing food and medicine or going for a short walk of no more than 100 meters (328 feet) from their home.
Those found violating those regulations are subject to fines of upwards of NIS 500 ($140) or imprisonment.
It is worth mentioning that the World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic on March 11 as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 121,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.
More cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease Covid-19, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.
The data collected so far showed that at least 549,220 people are infected and about 24,866 people have died.
Transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.
They can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes.
