In Avers Valley, southwestern Switzerland, two men were rescued from an avalanche after their dog barked for help, Reuters reported on Sunday. The dog's barking succeeded in attracting nearby snow-shores.

Snow-shores managed in identifying the place of the dogs' owners and saved them. Air ambulance service Raga highlighted that the two persons were transported by the air ambulance.

Raga stated, "Their dogs, that were not buried by the masses of snow, drew attention to themselves by barking loudly," adding, "The dogs attracted the attention of a group of snow-shores who were some distance away in the same valley but had not witnessed the avalanche."

15-20 minutes later, the group of rescuers reached the scene and identified the persons' place as one of the victims' hand was visible, while the other was entirely buried.

Both suffered from some injuries and mild hypothermia before they were transported to the hospital.
