On Friday, the General Manager of the Algerian National Football team Djahid Zefizef announced that Djamel Belmadi renewed his contract as the coach of the Algerian team until 2026.
Belmadi received the responsibility of coaching the Algerian team in 2018, and he succeeded in developing the performance of the team to be at the top of the national teams in Africa.
His reign as coach witnessed Algeria's capturing of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019 which was held in Egypt.
It was the second time the team held the African title.
However, the Algerian team failed in advancing to the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2022, and advancing to FIFA World Cup.
The latest failures of the Algerian team created a lot of speculations about the future of Belmadi as the head of the coaching staff.
