Disney's animated musical “Wish” has received multiple at-home viewing release dates.

The movie is set to be released on digital platforms on January 23 and the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD versions of the movie will be available on March 12.

The home media launch will include a collection of featurettes discussing the rules for magical powers in the world of Wish, how the movie was made and the various hidden easter eggs in the movie related to the studio's history, as well as a short film celebrating a century of Disney magic.

"Once Upon a Studio", the short film that reunites several major characters from Walt Disney Animation Studio's filmography, will also be included when Wish becomes available.

Viewers will also include a "sing along" version of the movie, inviting them to join the characters in performing the original songs written by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Julia Michaels and Grammy-winning producer/songwriter/musician Benjamin Rice and scored by composer Dave Metzger.

The film is written by Jennifer Lee and directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn.

Wish

"Wish" revolves around an intriguing question: How did the wishing star, which so many Disney characters wish upon, come into the cosmos?

The movie unfolds in the magical kingdom of Rosas and introduces Asha, an optimist with a sharp wit who deeply cares about her community.

When Asha turns to the sky in a moment of need and makes a wish, her plea is answered by a little ball of energy called Star. Together, they team up to save Asha’s community.

The movie features Chris Pine as the ruler of Rosas, Alan Tudyk as Valentino, and Ariana DeBose as Asha.

"Wish" premiered in theaters back in November but it had a complicated theatrical run and didn't meet with the reception the studio expected for their latest musical.

The movie has grossed $209 million at the global box office with a reported budget of $200 million, without taking into account marketing and distribution costs, a far cry from the box office results Frozen II and Moana grossed a few years ago.
