Politician Valentinna Matviyenko, speaker of the Russian upper house, told Putin that colleagues were worried about his health.
“You were coughing at the meeting - we were all worried,” Matviyenko said. “We're worried about your health.”
“Valentina Ivanovna [Matviyenko], don't worry, everything is fine,” the president replied. “Not only for Covid-19, but all other infections are tested almost daily. So everything is fine.”
He claimed that he had a cold after exercising in cool air.
“Just a walk in the cool air, nothing bad is going on. And I wish all my colleagues good health,” he said, insisting that he has high antibody immunity. He blamed a diary clash for missing the G20 meeting.
On his part, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov admitted that Putin has not yet got re-vaccinated.
“He said himself, (he) retains very high… antibodies to coronavirus,” Peskov stated, adding that the president will “follow the recommendations of the doctors.”
