Ángel Di Maria netted twice as Paris Saint-Germain demolished Real Madrid with unanswered three goals in the first round of the group stage at the UEFA Champions League.

PSG started the game so fiercely as early as after fourteen minutes when Ángel Di María had put his side ahead after he poked the ball with a great power into the bottom left, shocking Real Madrid keeper Courtois at his near post.

Nineteen minutes later, the Argentinian doubled his side's lead, unleashing an unstoppable left-foot shot towards the bottom right corner.

Meunier added the third in the injury time after an excellent one-two with the Argentinian international to seal the victory.

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) disallowed Bale's goal after he made a deliberate movement with his arm towards the ball.

Real Madrid entered the game without the Whites’ Captain Sergio Ramos and fellow defender Nacho because they are suspended for the game as well as Luka Modrić, Marcelo, Nacho, Federico Valverde, who were ruled out from the squad due to their injuries.

On the other hand, PSG kicked off the adventure in the Champions League without their strikers Kylian Mbappé and Edinson Cavani because they  have not recovered from their injuries yet. Neymar was ruled out due to the suspension he received for his statements about the referee in the last year. Both teams were pooled in Group A, alongside Club Brugge, and Galatasaray.
