Suleiman Wahdan, a lawmaker, Deputy Chair of the House of Representatives (HoR), and the honorary president of the Wafd Party, denounced a columnist who called on introducing the federal system to the Sinai Peninsula.

That columnist had demanded the separation of the peninsula from the Egyptian state as a matter of experience.

Wahdan stressed that call was an attempt to skin and remove the Egyptian identity from the Sinai in the month the Egyptians celebrate its liberation and the raising of the Egyptian flag on it. He condemned that call describing it as an echo to what was promoted by invaders, conquerors, and diabolic thoughts.

Wahdan issued a statement said that Sinai is greater than considering it an investment project that must be experimented with. But rather, it symbols the present, past and future of Egypt.

Egypt fought bloody battles for the peninsula and she sacrificed for it thousands of heroes.

Wahdan said it is not a chance that the Egyptians celebrate in the month of April the liberation of Sinai and the raising of the Egyptian flag on it. He slammed those who writes under pseudonyms and present ideas that threaten the Egyptian national security. He enquired whether homelands can be the field of experiences?

Deputy Chair of HoR added that there are some matters related to the Egyptian national security and the existence of the Egyptian state, and therefore merely putting forward an idea that threatens the Egyptian national security and making the matter take into account the malicious press suggestions. The national security matters must be out of haggling, giving and taking.

Those malice suggestions only serve the country that failed to occupy the Sinai and the American Zionist scheme in the Greater Middle East project or Century Deal.

Deputy Chair of HoR pointed out that the economic development of the Sinai Peninsula has been proceeding strongly in the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The Egyptian state has implemented during the past five years many national giant projects and pumped huge investments in the Sinai. The investment cost of the projects that are implemented there amounted to EGP 800 billion.

The state is also vigorously seeking to develop the governorates of the Suez Canal which include Port Said, Ismailia, and Suez along the governorates of North and South Sinai to create an integrated economic bloc.

At the same time, the armed forces cleared the Sinai Peninsula out of the terrorist elements, which were also sowed by specific countries in order to prevent development in the Sinai and to serve the agendas of countries hostile to Egypt and to be easy to occupy according to their plans.

He continued to say that the most accurate said on the Sinai was what the great Egyptian geographer Dr. Gamal Hamdan when he said: If the Nile water irrigates the valley, the Egyptian blood irrigated the sand of Sinai.

Since the dawn of history, the eastern gate of Egypt represented the gift and ordeal. On her land, bloodshed, her sons wrote heroic epics and offered unlimited sacrifices. The Egyptians confronted and expelled the invaders, occupiers and greedy people.

Sinai has natural resources, a suitable environment for agriculture, stunning scenery and tourist resorts.

He stressed the necessity of confronting all malicious attempts and ideas, and even those who have these ideas must be exposed to give a message to the outside and inside that carving out an inch from the Sinai is only on the blood and souls of the Egyptians.
