Palestinian media reported on Wednesday that the death toll from an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Jaouni School in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza has risen to 13, with many more injured. The school had been serving as a shelter for displaced families amid the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.
According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, the total death toll from the Israeli military offensive, which began on October 7, has now reached 41,084, with 95,029 people injured. The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate as airstrikes intensify, leaving thousands of victims still trapped under rubble across the enclave.
The Ministry of Health also reported that four additional massacres were committed against families in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours. Hospitals received 64 bodies and treated 104 wounded in just one day, further straining Gaza's already overwhelmed healthcare system.
The assault on Gaza has triggered widespread international concern, as civilian infrastructure, including schools, homes, and hospitals, continues to be targeted. The rising death toll and growing number of casualties highlight the urgent need for a ceasefire and immediate humanitarian aid to protect civilians and provide relief to those affected by the violence.
The conflict, which has seen devastating airstrikes, has led to an unprecedented number of casualties, making it one of the deadliest episodes in the region’s history. The scale of destruction in Gaza has raised alarms among humanitarian organizations, which have repeatedly called for an end to the hostilities and the protection of civilians under international law.
