Former England star David Beckham has made British sporting history after becoming the first UK athlete to surpass £1 billion in personal wealth, according to the Sunday Times Rich List 2026.
The report estimates that Beckham and his wife, fashion designer Victoria Beckham, now share a combined fortune of approximately £1.185 billion, marking a milestone achievement that reflects their success across sport, business, and fashion.
Beckham, a former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder, is also a co-owner of Major League Soccer club Inter Miami, valued at around $1.45 billion.
His continued earnings are boosted by long-term endorsement deals with global brands such as Adidas and Hugo Boss.
Victoria Beckham’s fashion label has also played a significant role in the family’s financial growth, contributing to their expanding global business empire.
The report notes that the only British sports-related fortune exceeding the Beckhams belongs to businessman Bernie Ecclestone, whose wealth is estimated at around £2 billion.
Other prominent British athletes featured in the rankings include golfer Rory McIlroy, with an estimated fortune of £325 million, and Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton, whose wealth is reported at £435 million.
