Dani Carvajal will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season, bringing an end to one of the most successful careers in the club’s modern history.
The Spanish giants confirmed on Monday that an agreement had been reached with the club captain to conclude his time at the Santiago Bernabéu this summer after 23 years associated with Real Madrid, including a decade in the academy and 13 seasons with the senior team.
Carvajal departs as one of the most decorated players in club history, having won 27 major trophies with Los Blancos. His remarkable collection includes six UEFA Champions League titles, six Club World Cups, five UEFA Super Cups, four La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies, and four Spanish Super Cups.
The 34-year-old right-back also became one of only five players in football history to win six European Cups, playing a key role during one of the most dominant eras ever enjoyed by the Spanish club.
In an official statement, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez described Carvajal as “a legend and an emblem of Real Madrid,” praising his commitment and dedication throughout his career.
Carvajal made 450 appearances for Real Madrid and scored 14 goals, while also earning individual recognition during his career, including selection in the FIFPro World XI and The Best FIFA Men’s XI in 2024. He was also named Man of the Match in the 2024 Champions League final after scoring in the decisive victory.
At international level, Carvajal represented Spain national football team 51 times, helping Spain win UEFA Euro 2024 and the 2023 UEFA Nations League.
Real Madrid announced that the Santiago Bernabéu will hold a special tribute ceremony for Carvajal during Saturday’s final La Liga match of the season, as supporters prepare to say farewell to one of the club’s greatest modern legends.
