Daily Mail: Experts Expect That Coronavirus Infect 1.5 Million at Christmas in Britain

Top health experts expect at least 1.5 million people to be infected with the Coronavirus on Christmas Day in Britain.

The experts are urging patients to celebrate on their own, and Britons are already abandoning their festive plans, according to the British Daily Mail.

The newspaper said that the figures show that 1.2 million people were infected with the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19) in the week until December 9, and experts say that infections are likely to continue to rise in the weeks since then.

And official data indicated that more than a million Britons will be infected with the Coronavirus this Christmas, as cases increased by 9% in less than a week, and the heads of the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) urged anyone “feeling unwell” to avoid their loved ones during over the holidays, frustrated Brits have already been vocal about how they had to cancel their plans after testing positive.

Experts said infections are likely to continue to rise in the coming weeks, with more people mixing indoors for social parties during the cold weather.
