The Republic of Cyprus is at the forefront of delivering critical humanitarian aid to Gaza through the innovative "Amalthea" maritime corridor plan. As confirmed by President Nikos Christodoulides, a convoy consisting of three ships, which embarked from Larnaca port last Saturday, is set to arrive in Gaza today, successfully continuing Cyprus's commitment to supporting the region's civilians.

This second shipment, part of a broader initiative to provide relief to northern Gaza, comprises 332 tons of humanitarian aid carried by the vessels Open Arms, Jennifer, Ledra Dynamics, and the barge ARIS. According to marinetraffic.com, these ships are currently positioned off Gaza's coast, ready to deliver their vital cargo.

Looking ahead, President Christodoulides announced plans for expanding this humanitarian mission. "The second aid shipment will soon reach Gaza. We're already preparing for the third mission and are coordinating with the US government," he stated. An integral part of these plans is the construction of a new pier, which aims to enhance the efficiency and volume of aid delivered from Larnaca to Gaza.

This initiative not only highlights Cyprus's pivotal role in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza but also underscores the power of international cooperation in providing essential support to those in need. With ongoing preparations for future missions, Cyprus continues to strengthen its humanitarian outreach, signaling a sustained commitment to aiding Gaza's civilian population amidst challenging circumstances.
