On Tuesday 3 December 2019, Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture will inaugurate the first edition of Alexandria Arab Theater Festival for Institutes and Colleges.
The event will be attended by Mohamed El Sherif, Governor of Alexandria, Dr. Mostafa El Feky, Director of Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Dr. Ashraf Zaki, head of the Academy of Arts,
The festival is headed by Dr. Alaa Abdel Aziz Suleiman ,drama professor at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts.
This edition celebrates the great Jalal El Sharkawy; it will witness the participation of 7 countries: Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and Lebanon.
The Minister of Culture will honor five figures who contributed to enriching the field of theater in Egypt and the Arab world: Mohamed Sobhy, Khaled Al Nabawi, Dawood Hussein (Kuwait), Dr. Hassan Attia, and Dr. Essam Ahmed El Kurdi- President of Alexandria University.
It is worthy of note that the first edition of the Alexandria Arab Theater Festival for institutes and specialized colleges is held with the participation of 7 Arab countries :-
- Egypt represented by the Department of Drama and Criticism at the University of Ain Shams, featuring the following plays:- "Ashab Al- saada” " - the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts ", Wahsh Al Zogag” - American University , "Esabat Shaneia “ - Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Alexandria.
- Jordan represented by the Department of Dramatic Arts at the University of Jordan, featuring the play "Bur Theater”.
-Morocco represented by the Higher Master Studies Theater and classic Arts Class.
Saudi Arabia will feature "Al Asefa".
Kuwait will showcase "Al khouroug Ila Al Hayat".
Oman will display "Mushka " Play.
Lebanon participates with “ The dictator” .
Furthermore, this Edition hosts a group of Arab specialists including:- Dr. Mohammed Hosni Haj (Lebanon), Dr. Rami Najib Farah Haddad , the great artist Hussein Khatib , Dr. Omar Naqrash (Jordan), Dr. Hisham Ben Issa (Tunisia), the great writer Ismail Abdullah ( UAE), Dr. Sami Al-Jamaan (Saudi Arabia), Dr. Osama Khalid Al-Mesbah and Dr. Jamal Al-Shayji (Kuwait).
