Culture Min. Launches 2nd Phase of 'People's Cinema' Project in Governorates

The artist, Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture launched the second phase of "People’s Cinema" project, which aims to present modern and contemporary cinematic works with affordable prices for all layers of society, it is implemented in the cinemas of " the General Organization of Culture Palaces "headed by director Hisham Atwa and it is under the supervision of the artist Tamer Abdel Moneim- General Director of cinematic Culture Administration.

Abdel-Dayem said that "People’s Cinema" project is one of the plans to achieve the principle of cultural justice, noting that it works to spread enlightenment and confront extremist ideology through the presentation of documentaries films to raise awareness, in addition to supporting the film industry by presenting the works of creators in the face of commercial art. She indicated that the first phase witnessed a huge public turnout because of the affordable prices of the tickets.

The project is screened on 5 sites, namely: Cinema Palace in Garden City ,July Culture Palace in Mahalla, 23 July Culture palace in Assiut, Sharm El Sheikh Culture Palace and Damanhour Culture Palace

On his part, Director Hisham Atwa said that the second phase started on 30th June with screening the movie “Kira Wal Jin” starring Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz, written by Ahmed Murad and directed by Marwan Hamed, in addition to screening documentaries produced by the General Administration of Cinematic Culture.

As for the artist Tamer Abdel Moneim , he said that the sites participating in " People's Cinema" project in its first phase are: "The Cinema Palace in Garden City - Cairo, Al- Anfoushi Culture Palace in Alexandria, Cinema Palace in Tanta and 23 July in Mahalla in Gharbia, Damanhour Culture Palace in Beheira, the People's Cinema in Shebin El-Kom , Sadat Cinema in Menoufia, Assiut Culture Palace and Sharm El-Sheikh Culture Palace in South Sinai.
