Culture Min. Launches “Heroes from Our Country”

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, the Minister of Culture has launched project entitled "Heroes from our country" to transform the stories of heroism and sacrifices of sons of Egyptian armed forces to theatrical works.

 

The project is extracted from the book "Stories of the Children and Land" by the journalist Mohamed Nabil, and it is implemented by the General organization of Culture Palaces, headed by Dr. Ahmed Awwad.

 

Abdel Dayem said that “Heroes from our country” project comes to immortalize the great civilization movement that started since the dawn of history.

 

Abdel Dayem indicated that it is necessary to introduce the sacrifices of these brave heroes who sacrificed their lives for Egypt.

 

She added that the project sheds light on the glories achieved by the sons of the armed forces to build the national identity.

 

She affirmed that the first phase of the project includes 6 governorates, namely: Port Said, Assiut, Giza, Dakahlia, Gharbiya and Aswan, as the second phase starts in the rest of the provinces consecutively.

 

The national memory is full of the heroism presented by the sons of Egypt, whose biography will be an example for the coming generations.

 

On his part, the head of the Culture Palaces Organization said that the project will be launched in the next September, under the supervision of the artist Hisham Atwa - Vice-President of the Culture Palaces Organization; it will be implemented by the Central Administration for Artistic Affairs of the Organization, headed by artist Ahmed El Shafei.

 

The project is working to provide theatrical treatments for the stories of the book “The Stories of the Children and Land”, which deals with the biography of the icons of the armed forces.

 

The project will be presented in various parts of Egypt, starting from the valiant city of Port Said with the story of the martyr soldier fighter Mustafa Khadr, directed by Mohamed Ashry.

 

In Assiut, the story of the martyr soldier fighter Abanoub Nageh Maezouk, directed by Khaled Abu Dhaif.

 

In Al- Giza governorate, the story of the martyr soldier Sadi Mahmoud Hamed, directed by Ahmed Taha .

 

In Al- Dakahlia governorate, the story of the martyr Ali Ali Al-Sayed, directed by Saeed Mansi.

 

In Al- Gharbia governorate, the story of the martyr Sergeant Muhammad al-Sayyid Ismael, directed by al-Sayyid Fajl.

 

In Aswan, the story of the martyr soldier Omar Hussein Abdullah Sanusi, directed by Shazly Farah.

 

The book "Tales of the Children and the Land" is published by the Egyptian General Book Authority, headed by Dr. Haitham Al-Hajj.

 

The book also shows the humanitarian aspects, revealing the relations of the martyrs with their community through live testimonies of their family members.
