Culture Min. Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome Attracts European Attention

Today, Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, minister of Culture, said that the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome is getting the attention of the Europeans as it is the golden gate for delivering the Egyptian creativity to the heart of Europe.

Abdel Dayem added that it is one of the arms of cultural diplomacy and the Egyptian soft power.

The minister noted that since the establishment of the Academy, it has played an active role in creating cultural dialogue of civilizations between the Egyptian and European people - the nations of the Old Continent.

The Academy has succeeded in highlighting the artistic and cultural mutual influences between Egypt and Italy.

The minister explained that it is a continuation of the pioneering role in transferring the various colors of thought, art and culture to Italy, launching an exceptional new season entitled" Egypt, Italy ... civilization and culture ... friendship without borders", including presenting various activities of the Egyptian thought and art - electronic and live shows.

She assured that at the beginning of this season, the Academy library is reopened after its closure for several years, which includes more than ten thousand books and rare masterpieces for Egyptian and Italian researchers and scholars, in addition to setting up a digital access to its lists and content.

She explained that the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome is one of the most important enlightening institutions in the cultural and artistic system sponsored by the Egyptian government.

It is considered to be the icon of civilized communication between Egypt and Italy and the various peoples of Europe.

During a recorded speech delivered by the Minister of Culture at the opening ceremonies of the new season of the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome, she invited all the European people to follow up the activities presented by the Academy to emphasize Egypt's civilizational leadership.

The celebration of the opening of the new season of the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome was attended by Hisham Badr, the Ambassador of Egypt to Italy, Dr. Heba Youssef, Director of the Academy, Ambassador Enas Mekkawi, Head of the Arab League Mission in Rome, Ambassador Safia Taleb Al-Suhail, Iraqi Ambassador to Italy and an array of ambassadors and public figures in the Italian society.

The opening ceremony included presentation of: a lecture by Dr. Zahi Hawass about the newly discovered antiquities in " the Valley of the Kings " and" the pyramids area" in Egypt.

Hawass stressed that the Pharaonic civilization continues to dazzle the world with its hidden secrets, adding that Egypt continues to arouse astonishment by revealing more of its treasures and secrets.

Hawass expressed his happiness with his participation in the opening ceremony of the new season of the Egyptian Art Academy in Rome, which he described as the creative bridge between Egypt and Europe.

He also praised the efforts of the culture ministry in the various countries to emphasize the leadership of Egypt.

The Academy's library contains a collection of more than ten thousand books and masterpieces and a number of old and rare copies of catalogs that deal with many fields such as arts, literature, architecture, cinema and theater.

In addition, it houses collection of history and archeology in order to make it a fundamental pillar of the activities in the Academy by using digital system that facilitates the access to the lists and content of it , to serve the members of " the State Prize for Creativity".

Moreover, it is presenting a documentary film produced by the Academy, entitled " Egypt Continues to Write the History", dealing with the aspects of Egyptian civilization through the ages, as well as the current huge national projects that are taking place on the land of Egypt to show Egypt in the past, present and future.

The opening ceremony was admired and appreciated by the attendees who expressed their fascination with the Egyptian civilization.

The attendees praised all the activities that were presented in light of the precautionary measures stipulated by the Italian state regulations and laws to confront Coronavirus.
