Culture Min. Delivers 4th Ed. of 'The University Theater Stars Seasons'

The Minister of Culture Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem honors the stars of the university theater at the end of “The University Theater Stars Seasons”.

Abdel Dayem said that the season of University Theater stars is one of the most important axes in the cultural strategy of the sustainable development plans "Egypt Vision - 2030" – especially sponsoring talented people.

The minister handed over the awards for the fourth edition of the "University Theater Stars Seasons".

The event was held from 22 to 31 October 2020 on the external stage of Al Hanager Art Center under the title “ Return of the Spirit”.

It was organized by The Cultural Development Fund Sector headed by Dr. Fathy Abdel-Wahab.

The ceremony was attended by director Khaled Galal, Head of Production Affairs Sector and a group of cultural executives of this season.

Abdel-Dayem said that the activation of the university theater star seasons coincides with the implementation of the most important axes of the Ministry's strategy for the sustainable development plan "Egypt Vision 2030".

The vision aims to discover and sponsor talented people to develop society and preserve the national identity.

She also praised the organizers of this event for their role in teaching and spreading valuable arts to create new creative generations.

Furthermore, she praised the creative high standard of the presented theatrical works, wishing them a bright and promising future.

On his part, director Khaled Jalal announced that after the approval of Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem and the head of The National Festival of Theater, it was decided that the three winning play of this season will participate in the next session of “the National Festival of Theater “ – that will be held on December 2020.

The minister also honored a number of superstars who started their career in the university theater, namely : artist Ahmed Siyam , Dr. Ashraf Zaki, the artist Ihab Fahmy, Dr. Samir Shaheen, the director Islam Imam and Dr. Marwa Odaa.

Worthy notibg that the artist Mohamed El-Desouki, head of the jury, announced the recommendations of the committee, as follows:

- All the troupes must adhere to the regulations of “The University Theater Stars Seasons" issued by its supreme committee regarding the specified duration of the performance.

- The need to pay attention to the Arabic language, the preparation of the theatrical text.

- Specifying one of this event sessions to the youth of the “Egyptian theater author “.

The awards included:

- Best Costume Design Award went to the student Hana Al-Najdi for the play "Tom and Jerry" - Cairo University.

- Best Actress of the Second Role Award went to the student Nesma Adel for the play “Death of a Salesman” -Ain Shams University

- Best Actress Award went to the Student Marwa Mohamed for the show “Anchor in a Hysterical Environment “ - Ain Shams University.
