Reports suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., the son of football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, could soon play alongside his father at professional level, potentially creating one of the most unique moments in football history.
Cristiano Jr. currently plays for the youth teams of Al Nassr and represents the Portugal national under-16 team.
Earlier this year, he also underwent a trial period with Real Madrid, continuing his development across elite football academies.
According to the Daily Mail, there is a possibility that the 16-year-old forward could be promoted to Al Nassr’s first team as early as next season.
Club management is reportedly considering the move as part of their long-term development plans.
Cristiano Ronaldo, now 41, has previously expressed his dream of playing professionally alongside his son, a rare achievement in modern football.
The Portuguese star has long spoken about extending his career long enough to share the pitch with him.
There is also growing speculation that father and son could eventually feature together for the Portugal senior national team, as Cristiano Jr. continues to rise through the youth ranks.
Before joining Al Nassr with his father in 2023, Cristiano Jr. developed in the academies of Juventus and Manchester United during the periods when Ronaldo played for both clubs.
Reports indicate that club officials believe the young forward could become part of the senior squad during the 2026–2027 season.
Ronaldo has previously stated that time is running out to achieve his ambition of joining an exclusive group of footballers who have played professionally alongside their sons.
That list includes rare examples such as Rivaldo and his son Rivaldinho, as well as other historic father-and-son combinations in professional football.
