"Egypt will be an important center for the clinical trials of Covid-19 vaccines," according to the American Newspaper "Wall Street Journal".

"Egypt has started trials for several vaccines including Vacsera, Sinovac, and Sinopharm in cooperation with the Chinese Government and the Emarati G42 Corporation for medical care," Egypt's Health Minister Hala Zayed said in a phone interview last month.

Thanks to its location and population, Egypt is considered a suitable environment for vaccine clinical trials. Furthermore, Egypt has a strong and deep-rooted medical industry and wide experience in manufacturing vaccines.

The American Newspaper "Wall Street Journal" reported that various Chinese officials aim to prepare Egypt to be an African hub for distributing and manufacturing COVID-19 vaccines.

In addition, Egypt held talks to import millions of doses from Oxford and Sputnik vaccines.

A World Health Organization delegation has visited Egypt and examined the selected factories for producing the vaccines.

There are three Arabic countries that go on clinical trials for the Chinese vaccines: Bahrain, UAE, and Jordan along with Egypt.
