Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Adviser to the Egyptian President on Health and Prevention Affairs, said late Friday that the drug used by US President Donald Trump to overcome the COVID-19 is available in Egypt

Tag El-Din said in media statements via Skype, on DMC TV that “The medical team treating Trump did not announce many details about the drugs he received, but Remdesivir was the main drug that he received. Remdesivir is used in Egypt. "

"In fact, many companies in Egypt started manufacturing this drug, which was used in the Egyptian protocol to treat severe cases of the novel coronavirus," he added.

He noted that all the medicines used to reduce the severity of the coronavirus are present in the Egyptian protocols for treatment, explaining that he did not receive accurate detailed information about any other drugs used to deal with the disease outside the Egyptian protocol.

“There is no confirmed drug to treat this virus till this moment,” he stressed.
