COVID-19 Cases Globally Decline by 15% in Week

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced, on Thursday, that the number of new Coronavirus infections dropped by 15% last week.

The total of newly reported cases globally was 2.6 million, 15% less than the previous week. 

On the other hand, the rate of deaths linked to the virus declined by 13%, compared to the previous week, recording 8500 deaths.

Yesterday, Data showed that the total number of confirmed cases of the Coronavirus around the world exceeded 628 million, as of Wednesday morning.

The latest data available on the Johns Hopkins University website, at 0700 GMT, indicated that the total number of cases reached 628069183.

The total number of deaths due to the pandemic rose to 6579781.
