Tunisia has reported on Monday 4 new Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 1013, and 42 deaths.

In an official statement, the Tunisian health ministry said that the new cases have been detected after undergoing 351 laboratory analyses.

It also added that laboratory analyses are mainly carried out for the suspected cases and those who are in contact with confirmed ones.

It is worth mentioning that, several Arab countries have tightened restrictions on movement and travel, with the aim of curbing the spread of the Coronavirus, and some have pledged billions of dollars in economic stimulus programs to reduce the economic repercussions of the crisis.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 121,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

Transmission of virus between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.

It can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.

People across the globe partake in self-isolation as an effective precautionary measure to protect those around them and themselves from contracting COVID-19.
