Coronavirus Deaths in Egypt Decline to Near 0

Death linked to Coronavirus declined to near zero, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official was cited by news outlets on Sunday.

Abel Ghaffar added that the rates of infection in Egypt are lower than expected, in addition, the most dominant COVID-19 variant in the country now is Omicron.

The official asserted that the state deals with the situation of the pandemic based on the global standers, asserting that the pandemic is not over yet.

In addition, Coronavirus treatments are available in all hospitals for free, and Egypt is able to start to vaccinate babies against the virus, he added.

Previously, Abdel Ghaffar commented on the latest decision of lifting the Coronavirus restrictions, media agencies reported on Saturday.

Abdel Ghaffar said that lifting the restrictions was based on detailed studies and research, and all taken decisions were concerned with the public health in Egypt.

He added that the Egyptian authorities work accurately for observing the updates of the pandemic in Egypt, in addition to providing the required number of vaccines for protecting the Egyptians which helped in lifting the travel restrictions, asserting that vaccination is the safest way to restrict the virus.

In the same context, the Presidential Advisor for Health and Protection Affairs Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din said that the latest recorded COVID-19 infections are few, in addition, the majority of cases didn’t need to be hospitalized.

Tag El-Din added that the authorities are ready for any emergencies or upcoming viruses' outbreaks such as the latest emergence of Monkeypox, and Tomato Flu, commenting that those viruses exist in the world for many years, and sometimes the outbreak of those infections on a global level is expected.
