The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases recorded worldwide has surpassed 22 million cases so far, as the pandemic’s rate of infection still continues to accelerate, according to the "Worldmeters" website.
The United States has recorded more than 25% of total cases (5.6 million).
The rest of the countries that are currently suffering the most from the pandemic include Brazil (3.36 million cases), India (2.7 million), and Russia (0.93 million).
It was reported earlier that Russia started producing a COVID-19 vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology.
