Coronavirus Cases in Saudi Arabia Surpass 1,400

Saudi Arabia’s Health Ministry confirmed on Monday that the coronavirus cases in the country surpassed 1,400

“Up to 154 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed and this upped the total number of the confirmed cases to 1453,” the ministry said in a statement.

It also added that there are no coronavirus deaths during the last twenty-four hours as the Arab country had reported only eight death since the spread of the COVID-19.

“Up to 49 cases have totally recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of the recovered cases to 115,” it added.

The ministry also urged all the citizens to stick to the lockdown and avoid gathering.

More than 700,000 persons around the world have been infected by the virus, which claimed the lives of more than 35,000 worldwide. It also hit a number of top political figures around the world.

On Friday, UK’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus, as the outbreak spreads across the country.

Johnson confirmed the news in a video posted on Twitter, saying: “Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.”

He continued: “I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus. Together we will beat this. #StayHomeSaveLives”

The announcement comes days after Prince Charles was confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus.
