The total deaths due to infection with the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) around the world exceeded the threshold of two million and 500 thousand so far.

And the United States of America (USA) tops the list with the largest number of deaths.

American scientists are concerned about a new strain of Corona that may be more deadly and susceptible to vaccine resistance

According to the "World Meter" website, which specializes in monitoring virus statistics, the total virus deaths around the world have reached 2 million 508 thousand and 913.

The USA tops the list of countries in the world in Corona deaths, with 518,363 deaths, followed by Brazil with 250,079, and Mexico with 182,815.

The site data showed that the total number of infections around the world amounted to 112 million and 850 thousand and 488.

While the number of people recovering from Corona reached 88 million 713 thousand and 439

On the other hand, American scientists said that a new mutated version of the   Coronavirus appeared in California, which may be more lethal and susceptible to resistance to vaccines.

A report that appeared on the "Science Alert" website indicated that scientists are increasingly concerned about the strain that appeared last spring, but did not appear on scientists' radar until this winter.

The scientists warned that the new strain is more contagious than other strains and may be resistant to vaccines currently available around the world.

The scientists concluded that by last January, this strain was predominant in the state, and cases of infection were doubling every 18 days.

The study found that the new version is 40 percent more powerful in infecting human cells compared to other strains.

Scientists observed that those infected with this strain had more levels of the virus in the nose and throat than those infected with other strains.

The scientists warned that their findings regarding the new strain are worrisome and called for the version to be considered "disturbing," similar to the versions that appeared in Britain, South Africa, and Brazil.
