Copenhagen will contribute 100 million Danish crowns ($14.1 million) to a joint European request for ammunition under an EU project to aid Ukraine, Danish Defense Ministry said on Monday.
“With the abolition of the EU defense reservation last year, Denmark has the opportunity to participate fully in European defense cooperation that includes the European Defense Agency,” Defense Minister Trols Lund Poulsen said in a statement.
The Danish Ministry said that the ammunition is expected to be delivered during 2024.
The European Defense Agency said on Friday that 7 European Union member states had requested ammunition to deliver 155-millimeter artillery shells to Ukraine and replenish depleted Western stocks.
