The draw for the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey was held on Friday at the headquarters of the Spanish Football Federation in Las Rozas, Madrid, amid widespread anticipation from clubs and fans eager to learn the decisive matchups of the competition.
The draw produced a highly anticipated showdown between defending champions Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, widely regarded as the standout tie of the round given the stature and history of both clubs in Spanish football.
The first leg of the tie will be played at Atlético Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium on February 10, 11, or 12, with the return leg scheduled for March 3, 4, or 5 at Barcelona’s Camp Nou.
In the other semi-final, Athletic Bilbao will face Real Sociedad in an all-Basque encounter. The first leg will take place at San Mamés, with the second leg to be hosted by Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena.
