President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi confirmed that the Egyptian state was keen during the COP27 climate summit in Sharm El-Sheikh to establish a climate loss and damage fund.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said during his speech at the climate conference in UAE that the conference is being held amid serious political challenges, so "we must work sincerely to produce ambitious results, accelerate implementation of previous pledges, and enhance collective and urgent action."
President Sisi added: " We must work to confront the effects of climate change and address them or contain their effects. Our responsibility is to confirm the clear message that we are committed and even ambitious in our measures and in their implementation in accordance with what we agreed upon in Paris".
" we call on the international community to take more ambitious steps at the Dubai conference in addition to expanding the scope of community participation while avoiding unilateral actions, " president Sisi said.
The COP28 conference, held in Dubai, approved the activation of the Loss and Damage Fund to support climate action to mitigate the effects on countries affected by climate change.
