It was reported that Uruguay's first football national team coach Marcelo Bielsa could be punished due to his statements about 2024 Copa America organization by the US.

Ahead of Uruguay’s third-place match against Canada, Bielsa spoke up about the incidents involving Colombian fans and the Uruguayan players after their semifinal loss to Colombia.

According to reports, Colombian fans harassed the family members of several Uruguayan players, so, many Uruguayan players rushed into the stands and clashed violently with the Colombian fans.

CONMEBOL then launched an investigation into 11 Uruguayan players.

Bielsa criticism also tackled the infrastructural, safety, training, field protocols, and the quality of the playgrounds.
