Italian club Como announced on Tuesday the signing of Spanish striker Álvaro Morata from AC Milan on loan with an obligation to buy, adding world-class experience to their attacking line.

Morata’s illustrious career has taken him through some of football’s biggest teams — Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea, Atlético Madrid, Milan, and the Spanish national team. His trophy cabinet includes two UEFA Champions League titles, a UEFA Super Cup, a FIFA Club World Cup, two league titles each in Spain and Italy, as well as domestic cup triumphs in Italy, England, and Turkey, plus the UEFA Europa League.

On the international stage, the 31-year-old has earned 86 caps for Spain, scoring 37 goals and helping “La Roja” win Euro 2024 and the 2023 UEFA Nations League.

Como head coach Cesc Fàbregas welcomed the move, saying: “I’ve known Álvaro for years and have always admired his style and fighting spirit. He’s an intelligent striker who inspires his teammates, and we’re very happy to have him here.”

Morata shared his excitement for the new chapter: “I’m very happy to join Como. I felt the ambition of this team when I faced them last season, and I promise the fans I’ll give my all in every training session and every match.”
