Columbus Crew have announced that their Palestinian forward Wessam Abou Ali has successfully undergone knee surgery following a serious injury.

In an official statement posted on the club’s Facebook page, Columbus Crew confirmed that the player had surgery on Thursday morning as part of a treatment and rehabilitation plan aimed at restoring his full fitness.

The club added that Abou Ali will officially miss the entire 2026 season after medical assessments confirmed an anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus tear, requiring a lengthy recovery period.

The statement concluded with the club expressing full support for the player during his rehabilitation and wishing him a speedy recovery.

Earlier, the former Al Ahly SC striker revealed that he suffered the injury during a match against Orlando City SC in Major League Soccer.

In a message shared on Instagram, Abou Ali described the injury as a new challenge, saying he remains determined to overcome it and return stronger.

He reflected on past difficulties in his career and emphasized resilience, noting that the injury is only a small obstacle on his journey back to the pitch.
