Colombia secured a 3–1 victory over Costa Rica in a friendly match held early Tuesday as part of both teams’ preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off on June 11 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Colombia produced a strong attacking performance, with goals from Davinson Sánchez, Luis Díaz, and Luis Suárez in the 16th, 22nd, and 80th minutes respectively.
Costa Rica managed to pull one back through Soto in the 33rd minute.
Colombia will compete in Group 11 at the World Cup alongside Portugal, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Uzbekistan.
The match served as an important test for Colombia’s squad depth and tactical readiness ahead of the tournament.
