On Friday, Collins Dictionary announced its 2024 Word of the Year. This year's word is "Brat."
"Brat" is a word that was redefined and introduced by English singer Charli XCX.
This word was also used by US Presidential Candidate Kamal Harris's supporters.
"Brat" was the name of the English singer's sixth album hit, and the word meant in the song "confident, independent, and hedonistic attitude", according to Collins.
Collins said: "Inspired by the Charli XCX album, 'brat' has become one of the most talked about words of 2024," said the UK-based dictionary.
"More than a hugely successful album, 'brat' is a cultural phenomenon that has resonated with people globally, and 'brat summer' established itself as an aesthetic and a way of life," it added.
