There is absolutely no doubt that coffee is one of, if not the most famous beverage in the world. People make it with so many different recipes, hot like the Turkish coffee, American coffee, Lattes and cappuccinos or cold like frappuccinos and iced macchiatos. But what many people don’t know is the story behind discovering coffee:

It is said that a shepherd was feeding his sheep in a green land when he noticed that his sheep became noticeably active after eating this particular plant, the coffee. So, the shepherd told people about the activating effects of this plant and then people started to try eating it and drinking it in different ways till it became the coffee that we all know today.

It is also mentionable that the coffee in Yemen isn’t the coffee that we all know; it is different in both taste and base since Yemeni people drink the outer peel of the coffee ground instead of the actual bean inside. So, if you ever find yourself in Yemen don’t be surprised that their coffee isn’t coffee.
