On Sunday, Coco Gauff defeated #1 Aryna Sabalenka 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the final of the Women's US Open to claim its first grand slam title, a few weeks after capturing her first master title.
With her first grand slam title, the 19-year-old completed a great dominant hard court swing after her first round exit at Wimbledon.
Gauff is the third American teenager to win the US Open women’s title, following her idol Serena Williams, who won for the first time in 1999. She has now won 12 matches in succession and 18 of her last 19 since that Wimbledon exit.
The sixth seed will jump to No 3 in the WTA rankings.
