Cristian Chivu has etched his name into Serie A history after guiding Inter Milan to the 2025–2026 title, becoming the first foreign coach to win the Scudetto since José Mourinho in the 2009–2010 season.

Inter secured their 21st league title with a 2–0 victory over Parma at San Siro, confirming their dominance at the top of the table.

Speaking after the triumph, Chivu described the achievement as “special,” particularly as it came in his first full season in charge.

He emphasized the collective effort behind the success, highlighting the players’ consistency and teamwork throughout the campaign.

The milestone carries added significance given Chivu’s personal connection to Inter’s past glory.

He was part of the squad under Mourinho during the club’s historic treble-winning season, making this title a symbolic continuation of that legacy.

Since Mourinho’s triumph, Serie A has largely been dominated by Italian managers, including Massimiliano Allegri and Antonio Conte, who collected multiple titles, along with single-title winners such as Maurizio Sarri, Stefano Pioli, Luciano Spalletti, and Simone Inzaghi.

Chivu’s achievement not only breaks that domestic trend but also signals a new chapter for Inter, blending historical continuity with a fresh managerial identity.
