Chinese Tourism Minister Visits NMEC-Photos

Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism Mr. HU Heping and his accompanying delegation visited the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Fustat.

They were received by Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the museum Authority, who gave them an overview about the unique location of the museum, its history as well as its cultural and societal role.

Moreover, Dr. Marian Adel, Chief curator of NMEC, explained the contents of the archaeological museum, including; the central exhibition hall, the royal mummies hall, and the Egyptian textile hall, which talks about Egyptian civilization through the ages, via the latest museum display methods in the world.

At the end of the visit, Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim presented souvenirs to the Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism, as an expression of the bonds of friendship and cooperation between both countries.

In turn, HU expressed his great happiness and wrote a word in the museum's visit book to commemorate this visit.

It is worth mentioing that, the Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism visited a number of archaeological sites and museums during his 4-day official visit to Egypt.

During his visit, Hu visited the temples of Karnak, and Luxor, the Valley of the Kings and Queens, Deir el-Bahari Temple and Colossi of Memnon in Luxor, Giza Pyramids and Egyptian Museum in Tahrir.
