Chinese Foreign Affairs Min. Holds Event Presenting Fujian

Chinese Foreign Affairs Ministry held the 19th promotion event presenting Chinese provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, in Beijing, on July 5, 2019.

The event was held under the theme of "China in the New Era: Eco-friendly Fujian, Gateway for the Maritime Silk Road".

More than 500 people attended the event, including State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Yu Weiguo, People's Government of Fujian Province Tang Dengjie, Party Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Qi Yu, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Hanhui, diplomatic envoys from over 140 nations in China, representatives from international organizations in China, delegates from industrial and commercial sectors, Chinese and foreign experts, scholars, and journalists as well as Taiwan compatriots.

The event aimed to present Fujian economic and social developments since the establishment of China.

State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi welcomed Taiwan compatriots at their first attendance at the promotional event and pointed out that it is fully demonstrated that Fujian and Taiwan are deeply connected.

Wang Yi stated that Fujian has grown and thrived along the ocean since ancient times the province was the starting point of the old Maritime Silk Road, which ancient China brought peace and collaboration to nations all over the globe, and fostered the spirit of mutual learning and friendly communication.

Fujian is resolutely carrying out the strategy of building an ecological province proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping and is vigorously driving forward the construction of the ecological pilot zone Wang Yi pointed out. Ecological Fujian and Refreshing Fujian have become a golden image of Fujian.

He pointed out that the province is firmly pursuing the approach suggested by General Secretary Xi Jinping to build an ecological province and is strongly pushing forward the development of the ecological pilot area.

Fujian has continued to make the most of its geographical edge and has consistently promoted the development of the core area of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road as well as continuously enhanced maritime, land and air connectivity as well as a communication channel.

In Asia and Europe, China-Europe freight trains have entered 12 nations. It is believed that under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, together with the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, Fujian people will break new grounds and make new achievements in the new era.

Wang Yi stressed that over the past 70 years, the CPC has remained true to its original aspirations, united and led the Chinese people in sticking to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and made great achievements in its own development. The CPC is making great strides towards the goal of national rejuvenation.

Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun, Japanese Ambassador to China Yutaka Yokoi, and French Ambassador to China Jean-Maurice Ripert delivered speeches respectively, each heavily praising the fruitful accomplishments of China's reform and China's diplomacy in the new age as well as gave complete recognition to Fujian's geographical benefits, ecological accomplishments and fruitful collaboration with their countries across various fields, and expressed their willingness to actively push the friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial collaboration between Fujian and their countries to a new level.
