Chinese Ambassador Parises "Decent Life" Presidential Initiative

The Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang praised the Egyptian government's programs in recent years to raise the living standards of citizens.

 

In a seminar held under the title of "China's Experience in Fighting Poverty", Liao hailed President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's "Hayah Karema" (Decent Life) initiative, noting that it covers 624 villages in 16 provinces and serves 10 million people.

Moreover, the Chinese ambassador added that this presidential initiative includes measures to improve housing, roads, electricity, sewage, and water supply, and develop the medical and education sectors; during the epidemic period.

 

In recent years, the Egyptian government, under the leadership of President Sisi, has attached great importance to poverty reduction, supports the eradication of poverty through international cooperation, the Chinese ambassador added.

 

He also stressed that Egypt launched a number of effective policies to reduce poverty, foremost of which the social protection program "Unity and Dignity", launched in 2015, to help 3.6 million families in need and about 14.6 million people, the Chinese ambassador added.

 

Meanwhile, the ambassador added that cooperation between China and Egypt is deepening in various fields, which has brought tangible benefits to the two peoples.
