Chang Joon, China’s representative to the United Nations has revealed that his country will not support a motion submitted by the United States of America (USA) to the UN Security Council to strengthen sanctions on North Korea.

Joon affirmed that Beijing offered other alternatives to impose more sanctions on Pyongyang so China is not got to support the US standing resolution.

Chang added that talks are still undergoing among the permanent members of the council.

The Chinese representative went on to say that he hopes to find a solution to avoid a confrontation in the UN Security Council in the days to come.

It is worth noting that both Russia and China had proposed a resolution to mitigate sanctions on North Korea but it hasn’t voted yet.
