China Isolates 9 Mln after Recording about 5,000 New Covid-19 Infections

Chinese authorities have decided to isolate  a city of 9 million people, after recording about 5,000 new infections with the Coronavirus (known also as COVID-19).

At night, China imposed isolation on an industrial city of 9 million people and after it announced that it had recorded about 5,000 cases of Coronavirus, today, Tuesday, at a time when it adopts a “zero COVID” strategy.

Health authorities recorded 4,770 new cases of corona throughout the country, most of them in Jilin Province (northeast).

In the past few weeks, the Chinese authorities have been making efforts to eliminate hotbeds of the deadly virus, including imposing isolation, conducting tests to detect infections, and closing cities.

On Saturday, it reported two deaths from COVID, for the first time in more than a year.
